A Partnership That Transforms Lives
A Remarkable Initiative
Edmonton Community Partnership, led by Chief Executive Trevor Blackman, has proudly supported a remarkable initiative that is transforming lives. A generous donation of £1,000 to Base Boxing has enabled young migrants and refugees to access opportunities that extend far beyond the boxing ring.
A Visit to the Houses of Parliament
On 14th July 2025, Base Boxing hosted a special event where participants were given the chance to visit the Houses of Parliament. There, they engaged in thoughtful discussions around politics, immigration, and the challenges faced by young people awaiting work documentation. These conversations offered a rare and invaluable insight into policy-making and the ways it shapes their everyday lives.
Achieving National Success
The donation also ensured that aspiring young athletes could be prepared and registered for national competitions. This support has already borne fruit, with three boys under the age of 15 achieving the incredible milestone of becoming national champions - a success that would not have been possible without the belief and backing of the community.
A Message of Belief
Speaking about the impact of the donation, Base Boxing shared that the support had gone far beyond financial assistance. It represented a powerful message to the young people: that their community believes in them, values them, and is committed to their growth and potential.
"At Edmonton Community Partnership, we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive. Supporting initiatives like this not only helps to unlock talent but also strengthens the bonds within our community. We are proud to play a part in creating opportunities that can truly change lives."
A Shining Example
This collaboration stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when communities come together to invest in young people - building confidence, creating opportunities, and inspiring future leaders.
